It’s been a gorgeous spring here in Brighton after a long cold winter. The rapeseed has been out in full bloom and the views from the South Downs over all the colourful fields are impressive.

We’ve had a slow start to our garden this year, the winter definitely held things back a bit longer but now is catch up time.

Neil, the one wearing the beanie is our friendly garden cactus. The one with the red head is Gertrude, Syd is on the left and Angus is on the far right.

We have a continual fight on our hands with slugs and snails but still manage to get the pick of the spinach leaves before they’ve been nibbled on.

Peas are doing really well too but we don’t get as many as we’d like. Just not enough room in our backyard. Really looking forward to seeing some tomatoes in a few weeks.
