Am currently working in Angola on a survey ship doing pipeline surveys. It’s great to be back in the tropics after a cold British winter. I’ve been taking a few photos but for the most part we have been too far away from any oil rig and gas platforms to get decent shots.
The first day or so on the boat we sat inside the harbour at Pointe Noire in the Congo. There’s a colourful array of very, very expensive boats just sitting around doing nothing – hopefully things in the industry will pick up soon.
If you’ve come here looking for oil and gas industry stock images the rest of my collection is here.

We are doing pipeline inspection for an oil well that’s being decommissioned. This is the Essungo Oil Platform where the production is sent for processing and export.

The ROV being recovered to deck after surveying the Essungo oil platform. Wish I still had my wide lens.

This is the Safueiro Tripod platform that’s being decommissioned. No lights, nothing – just sitting in the dark Angolan waters. As I am working the graveyard shift there’s sure to be more night photos to come.
