28/365: Friday, 7th September 2007 - It was quite rough last night, I think I broke bed springs when we collided with one of the bigger waves. |
54/365: Wednesday, 3rd October 2007 - Six weeks on a boat and I think I am starting to see things that aren't really there. |

99/365: Saturday, 17th November 2007 - The weather is starting to get miserable, bring on the warm winter evenings and home-cooked stews and roasts! |
100/365: Sunday, 18th November 2007 - On my way back from having a hot-stone massage, one of the best I've ever had. |
101/365: Monday, 19th November 2007 - Ah Stef... you need a good clean. Though we have to be a bit careful these days of what we do behind closed doors with bicycles. Wouldn't want to get myself arrested. |
107/365: Sunday, 25th November 2007 - Spent a lovely day with Lis out at the Seven Sister's. Here's a cow. |

213/365: Thursday, 1st May 2008 - You can change anything. |
215/365: Saturday, 3rd May 2008 - Lidwine invites me in the morning to join her and Callum at the festival. I thought she meant Brighton Fringe Festival. We wind up at some Hippy festival in a field full of teepees outside of Uckfield, me feeling very overdressed and a little out of place. By the time we leave at 3am we're on a high of good spirits, vibes and music. |
216/365: Sunday, 4th May 2008 - A cry for help from an abandoned shopping trolley. |
248/365: Thursday, 5th June 2008 - The shortest port call I've ever had: This morning, just after we had spent half an hour with the ROV in the water preparing for survey we got a call to change our plans. Six hours transit to Kristiansund and we stop there for only twenty minutes! Then we're off again, heading back up North near the Arctic Circle to assist the Apache pipelay vessel again. |
250/365: Saturday, 7th June 2008 - An interesting article in an old copy of New Scientist about how noise can literally kill people. Spotted a basking shark this afternoon about 10 feet in length just swimming lazily beside the bow of the boat. |
258/365: Sunday, 15th June 2008 - Lis and I spent the afternoon in Arundel wandering about the castle and gardens. |
313/365: Saturday, 9th August 2008 |
328/365: Sunday, 24th August 2008 |
342/365: Sunday, 7th September 2008 |
356/365: Sunday, 21st September 2008 - Couldn't resist opening the first bottle of ginger beer. The bottle cap almost took my eye out when I was opening it. Tastes really, really good and not as sweet as I had feared. |
